Celebrating 175 years of firefly
Nearly two centuries of impact
While the needs of our neighbors change and grow, there are a few things we know remain true. Children need a warm bed to sleep in and a safe place to live. Parents need to be able to find secure work and keep the lights on in their homes. And families simply need someone to invest in their futures.
On February 13, 1851, Firefly Children & Family Alliance was born as part of The Widows and Orphans Friends’ Society. In the 175 years since, the world has changed many times over. There are, however, some things created then that are still with us now, including Firefly’s dedication to helping Indiana’s families.
In supporting Firefly, you are a part of something that has helped bring light to hundreds of thousands of families for nearly two centuries. Through times of war and peace, depressions and prosperity, growth and decay, you’ve helped us do the impossible. You’ve allowed us to never give up on those who need our help most.
To celebrate this major milestone of 175 years of service, we’re embarking on a new journey. Our goal is simple – raise $175,000 to launch a new emergency aid fund for the individuals and families we serve.
As we look ahead to another 175 years, we hope you will continue to walk alongside us.
