Sparkle by Firefly Children and Family Alliance – Privacy Policy
Introduction
This Privacy Statement explains how Firefly Children and Family Alliance protects personal information provided to us by our clients and users.
Sparkle (by Firefly Children and Family Alliance) is a HIPPA compliant platform for document management and communication for Firefly Children and Family Alliance programs. Users can complete the following functions:
- Account creation
- Login
- Reset password
- User validation against predefined user list
- Demo walkthrough including:
- Discounts
- Community announcements/Jobs
- Self care
- Document storage
- Events
- Resources
- Binder (Document management)
- Community Map
Users can choose to share their name (first name last initial, not full name) and their social media handle or they can elect to make their profile private
Commitment to Privacy
Firefly Children and Family Alliance understands that privacy is important to the users of our services and commits to being transparent in regard to our information collection and usage practices.
This privacy policy covers all products and services delivered by Firefly Children and Family Alliance. If changes are made to this privacy policy, previous versions of our privacy policy will be made available upon request.
The Application is available in both English and Spanish.
A translated version of our privacy policy will be made available upon request.
Information we collect
All data that is collected is covered under this privacy policy. This includes non-personal information and personal information provided to Firefly Children and Family Alliance.
In addition to your personal information, you may elect to provide additional information about yourself in your user profile. This includes the fields identified below. All information you provide voluntarily may be made accessible to Firefly Children and Family Alliance staff to better support the application and programs.
Firefly Children and Family Alliance track total amount of event feedback submitted and the total number of documents uploaded from every user as a whole but not individually.
Firefly Children and Family Alliance will collect the following types of data:

- First name
- Last name
- DOB
- Email address
- Optional Fields
- Phone number
- Gender
- Pronouns
- Profile image
- Other information
- User documents
- Highschool information
- Post-secondary education information
- Residence information

How we collect information
Firefly Children and Family Alliance collects information directly from our websites, the Sparkle application and services offered.
Why we collect information
Firefly Children and Family Alliance collects information for the following purposes:
- Personal information: To provide personalized services and features to you and provide you with the best possible user experience and support.
- Non-personal information / program information: To provide relevant program information to you.
- Application usage and downloads: To understand usage and optimize your interaction with our services.
- None of the information collected is currently shared with other users. Only mandatory fields are viewable from the mandatory dashboard.
Information hosting
Firefly Children and Family Alliance host all of our data within the United States of America. We use Google Cloud Platform to host all of our data. If you use our service from a country differing from the United States of America laws, that govern the collection and production of data, you may be transferring your personal information outside of the jurisdiction of control within the United States of America.
Information sharing and third parties
Firefly Children and Family Alliance does not share personal information for advertising or marketing purposes. Firefly Children and Family Alliance uses multiple third-party service providers to maintain and operate our services. These providers are listed below:
- Google Cloud Services: Provides hosting services for the application.
- Auth0: Provides authentication and authorization services to the application.
Information retention and destruction
Firefly Children and Family Alliance will retain information collected on behalf of our clients and users as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected or as otherwise required by applicable law. Our standard practice is to retain information for 7 years.
Information that is not held pursuant to applicable law, and is not necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected will be deleted. Our standard practice is to delete information after 7 years.
Private user documents are deleted immediately upon removal by the user. Public facing files (profile images) are removed after 30 days
Choices about your information
You can update and review any information in your account by logging into the Sparkle application. You can also update and configure notification and communication settings within the Sparkle application.
If you wish to delete your account, you will no longer be able to access your information on Sparkle. No other Sparkle user will be able to access your information. Firefly Children and Family Alliance will retain and use your information as necessary in order to comply with any legal obligations.
