Celebrating 175 years of firefly<\/h1>\n

Nearly two centuries of impact<\/span><\/h3>\n

While the needs of our neighbors change and grow, there are a few things we know remain true. Children need a warm bed to sleep in and a safe place to live. Parents need to be able to find secure work and keep the lights on in their homes. And families simply need someone to invest in their futures.<\/p>\n

On February 13, 1851, Firefly Children & Family Alliance was born as part of The Widows and Orphans Friends\u2019 Society. In the 175 years since, the world has changed many times over. There are, however, some things created then that are still with us now, including Firefly\u2019s dedication to helping Indiana\u2019s families.<\/p>\n

In supporting Firefly, you are a part of something that has helped bring light to hundreds of thousands of families for nearly two centuries. Through times of war and peace, depressions and prosperity, growth and decay, you\u2019ve helped us do the impossible. You\u2019ve allowed us to never give up on those who need our help most.<\/p>\n

To celebrate this major milestone of 175 years of service, we\u2019re embarking on a new journey.<\/p>\n

Our goal is to raise $175,000 to launch a new emergency aid fund for the individuals and families we serve. <\/strong>We’re more than 25% of the way to reaching that goal. Can you help us get there?<\/strong><\/p>\n

As we look ahead to another 175 years, we hope you will continue to walk alongside us.<\/p>\n

You have been many things in my life over the last seven years: a place to show up, a place to learn, a place to serve, and a place that helped me heal. I first came to you as someone who wanted to help survivors feel less alone. What I didn\u2019t expect was how much you would shape me in return. I have witnessed the quiet, powerful work you do every day, the kind of work that changes lives in moments most people never see. You\u2019ve also given me something deeply special: the rare chance to know and work alongside some truly remarkable people I might never have encountered otherwise. That community has been one of the greatest gifts of all.<\/div>\n
