"\u00bfQue quieres hacer con tu vida?" es una pregunta que todos debemos plantearnos en alg\u00fan momento. A los estudiantes universitarios, de secundaria e incluso de secundaria se les pide que elijan una carrera cada vez m\u00e1s temprano. Para algunos de nosotros, descubrir nuestro camino en la vida es f\u00e1cil y para otros es m\u00e1s dif\u00edcil. Sab\u00eda que quer\u00eda ser Trabajadora Social en la escuela primaria, pero no sab\u00eda que as\u00ed se llamaba. Sab\u00eda que quer\u00eda ayudar a los ni\u00f1os.<\/p>\n

El Trabajo Social es una de las ocupaciones m\u00e1s nobles y vers\u00e1tiles, sin embargo, muchas personas todav\u00eda piensan que los trabajadores sociales tienen anteojos de color rosa y reparten queso del gobierno. Cuando en realidad son los trabajadores sociales los que mejor pulso tienen sobre las luchas de los marginados. Mientras estaba en mi programa de MSW, me di cuenta de cu\u00e1ntas cosas diferentes pod\u00eda hacer con mi t\u00edtulo: trabajar con ni\u00f1os y adultos que han sufrido abuso, han luchado contra enfermedades mentales o est\u00e1n experimentando problemas de abuso de sustancias. Si quieres ayudar a los dem\u00e1s y crees que las personas pueden cambiar, te animo a que\u00a0considerar la profesi\u00f3n de trabajo social<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A continuaci\u00f3n se presentan algunas de las cualidades que poseen los trabajadores sociales:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Ves el valor y la val\u00eda de todos.<\/li>\n
  2. Crees que todas las personas pueden cambiar.<\/li>\n
  3. Ve brechas en su comunidad y quiere abogar por el cambio.<\/li>\n
  4. Usas habilidades de pensamiento cr\u00edtico.<\/li>\n
  5. Eres emp\u00e1tico.<\/li>\n
  6. La gente te dice que eres un buen oyente.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Los trabajadores sociales est\u00e1n en todas partes y son parte del tejido de nuestras comunidades. Encontrar\u00e1 trabajadores sociales en escuelas, correccionales, hospitales, atenci\u00f3n domiciliaria, refugios para v\u00edctimas de violencia dom\u00e9stica, organizaciones comunitarias, hospicios, asesoramiento privado, cabildeo por el cambio social, salud mental, abuso de sustancias, y la lista sigue y sigue. He podido trabajar en muchas \u00e1reas diferentes gracias a la flexibilidad del t\u00edtulo, que es probablemente lo que m\u00e1s me gusta de la profesi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

    Si desea trabajar con personas de ideas afines que lo apoyen y participen en actividades que lo inspiren y lo sorprendan, el trabajo social puede ser la carrera para usted. Si te gusta un horario de trabajo flexible y que tus d\u00edas nunca vuelvan a ser iguales, no pienses m\u00e1s all\u00e1 del trabajo social.
