{"id":9833,"date":"2021-11-04T12:40:58","date_gmt":"2021-11-04T12:40:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.childrensbureau.org\/?p=9833"},"modified":"2025-02-25T12:05:33","modified_gmt":"2025-02-25T17:05:33","slug":"kris-corner-a-pause-in-the-action","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fireflyin.org\/cnh\/resources\/news-library\/kris-corner-a-pause-in-the-action\/","title":{"rendered":"Kris&#8217; Corner &#8211; A Pause in the Action"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">So\u2026here\u2019s the thing\u2026I love\u00a0love\u00a0love\u00a0sharing with each of you about our foster care journey, about some of the experiences I\u2019ve\u00a0had as both a foster and adoptive parent, and about a few new things I have learned as I have gone along on this journey.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">I\u00a0have tapped in to my fellow foster parent support system and shared a bit of their stories with you as well. And I hope and pray that my excitement and enthusiasm for foster care comes through in my posts.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Additionally, I hope that my words paint a real,\u00a0true and somewhat unfiltered picture of foster care\u2026because as much as\u00a0I\u00a0would love to have each of you lovely readers become foster parents,\u00a0I\u00a0want you going into it with your eyes as wide open as they can possibly be.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Because if it\u2019s all sunshine and rainbows, you\u2019ll be in for a harsh reality at some point.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">All that said\u2026I do love writing for you each week, but also\u2026we all need a break\u00a0sometimes. Even from things we absolutely love. This might be our friends, our kids, our jobs\u2026virtually anything.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">And for me, that includes writing a blog.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<span data-contrast=\"none\">You may or may not have noticed, but I began writing at the beginning of the pandemic. Which means that I\u2019ve\u00a0been writing virtually every week for the past 18\u00a0months.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">A<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">s with many writers, things can start to feel stale or uninspired without respite, so in order to provide fresh, current topics, as well as quality writing, I need to have a little break.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">I return in January 2022.
